s  Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, on Friday, March 11, 2016, denied any tension within the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over alleged secret zoning of national offices of the party by some of its leaders.

The prosecution and the defence counsel on Friday, March 11, 2016, agreed on next Friday, March 18, 2016, for the argument of the motion on jurisdiction of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) to try Senate President Bukola Saraki on a charge of alleged false asset declaration slammed on him by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

The Managing Director of Lekki Gardens, Mr. Richard Nyong, has been arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Lagos following the collapse of one of the buildings being developed by the company in the Lekki area of the Nigeria’s commercial city.

The incident led to the death of over 30 people, leaving several others injured.

No fewer than 172 Nigerians deported from Libya have returned to the country under the voluntary returnee programme organised by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM).

Ali Danmaraya, the vice-chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, is dead, The Cable reports. Danmaraya died at his residence on Thursday morning, March 10, 2016, after a brief illness.  According to the report, the 73-year-old has been buried according to Islamic rites at the Farm Centre Cemetery in Tarauni Local Government Area of the state.

President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria has appointed the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Rivers State in the last general election, Dakuku Peterside, as the new NIMASA director general (DG).

The appointment, Daily Post reports, which takes immediate effect, was announced by Yetunde Sonaike, the director of public relations in the Ministry of Transportation.
