The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) has lamented that the advent of social media and phone text messages known as 'Short Messages service (SMS) have negatively affected the writing skills of students such that many of them cannot spell English words correctly.

  The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two employees of the Bauchi State Board of Internal Revenue over allegation of corruption.

 The board’s acting Chairman, Yakub Isa, confirmed the arrest of the officials while speaking to newsmen in his office yesterday.

The Bankers' Committee, an umbrella body comprising the Central Bank of Nigeria, Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) and the Nigeria Deposit Insurance corporation (NDIC) has assured that the banks have enough capital to absorb shocks, stressing that there would be no distress in the system.

 

Abia State government has elevated Aba Urban Renewal Committee, the office driving the infrastructural renewal of the Aba metropolis,  to a full-fledge  government parastatal with the name, Aba Urban Renewal Authority.

The new agency will oversee the general rehabilitation work in Aba including waste management and revenue generation.

A Federal High Court sitting in Jos, the Plateau State capital, has nullified the election which brought the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Pinnick, and his board into office. It also ordered Christopher Giwa to take over.
