More condemnations have continued to trail the statement credited to the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), John Odigie-Oyegun, to the effect that there was something “fundamentally wrong” with the Supreme Court judgment.

The battle between the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Imo State chapter, and the state government over the concession of health institutions in the state Thursday, February 4, 2016, turned bloody following the shooting of a renowned Consultant Family Physician, Dr. Bede Azudialor, by the police.

 

The Nigerian Presidency has defended Muhammadu Buhari’s record in office after a report claimed that the president had only fulfilled one of his electoral promises in his first seven months in office.

The Supreme Court, on Wednesday night (February 3, 2016),  affirmed the election of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.

In a unanimous judgment, a seven-man panel of Justices of the apex court headed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Mahmud Mohammed, voided the verdict of the Owerri Division of the Court of Appeal which sacked Ikpeazu from office.

 

Two prominent pro-Biafran groups have denied responsibility for hijacking a ship off the Nigerian coast and demanding the release of Nnamdi Kanu as a ransom.

 

Several senior commanders from the so-called Islamic State have moved to Libya from Iraq and Syria in recent months, according to a top Libyan intelligence official.
