PCNI donates drugs, consumables to Bauchi govt

The Presidential Committee on the North-East Initiative (PCNI) has donated drugs and consumables to PHCs in Bauchi State.
A member of the PCNI Committee, Mohammed Gambo Umar, disclosed this while presenting the drugs, items and inspection of completed projects in Bauchi.
He said that the development was part of President Muhammadu Buhari’s plan on North East rehabilitation programme.
“We are witnessing another remarkable healthcare intervention on North East rehabilitation programme in Bauchi ,’’ he said.
Umar said that the drugs and consumables were meant for the three primary healthcare centres in the three senatorial zones.
"The PHCs include Kofar Fada PHC in Bauchi LGA, Dambam PHC in Dambam LGA and Mashema PHC in Itas Gadau LGA.”
According to him, PCNI collaborates with Bauchi State government in provision of healthcare services in the state such as free medical outreach that included surgery, eye surgery, paediatrics, gynaecology and counselling across the state.
While receiving the equipment, Governor Mohammed Abubakar commended the Federal Government for the intervention, saying the intervention was timely and would go a long way in adding value to the already lunch five point health Agenda tagged, “Lafiya Garkuwa.”

He said that the five-point health agenda wass to provide effective healthcare delivery and to reduce maternal and child death in the state.
He assured that the drugs and consumables received from PCNI would be judiciously distributed across the PHCs for the benefit of the people.
The state Commissioner for Health, Hajiya Zuwaira Ibrahim Hassan, had commended the initiative for donating drugs and the consumables to reduce health problems in the state.
She explained that the items donated such as anti-malaria drugs, cottons, baby delivery kits among others that were used in primary healthcares.
