A youth group, Maimala Buni Students Support Group (MMBSSG), has declared its support for the candidature of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretary, Maimala Buni, who is also the 2019 Yobe State Governorship candidate on the platform of APC.

The concerned group said that it threw its weight behind Buni because of his contributions to the advancement of the party in the state and Nigeria at large.

The state Coordinator, MMBSSG, Comrade Baffa Hassan Adam, made the pledge during a press conference on the “2000 Students Match” in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, recently.

He described Buni as someone with unblemished record. He stated that among all the contenders for the position in other political parties, none has the track record of unblemished success like him.

“We are here in this gathering to tender our profound and unflinching support to giant and grandfather in politics and good governance of Yobe State, Northeast and Nigeria.

“This gathering is historic because we are here in support of continuity in quality healthcare delivery, state infrastructural development, good governance, prompt payment of salary and above all prompt payment of students scholarships to the indigenes studying in Nigeria and abroad.

“These students movement is set to take campaign to secondary and post-secondary schools within and outside Yobe State to mobilize support for Maimala Buni as the next governor of Yobe State in the forthcoming general elections”.

Adam said that the group decided to support the candidate because they believe the students, youths and people of Yobe will benefit from his wealth of experience; more so as he has demonstrated uncommon commitment to the growth of the state.

The group therefore called on the members of APC and the non-partisan citizens in the state to lay aside every sentiment and embrace Maimala to enable Yobe sustain the tempo of quality performance and execution of meaningful projects.

“We assure our people that Maimala is the right choice for Yobe. He is calm, trustworthy and capable of ensuring continuity.

“We have also mobilized 2000 youths and sensitized then on peaceful and violence-free campaign and elections.”
