2019: Bauchi PDM guber candidate lauds INEC, others over elections process

By Ahmed Ahmed

The Bauchi State People Democratic Movement (PDM) governorship candidate, Alhaji Ahmed Illiyasu, has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies and the media for their commitment during elections process.

Iliyasu made the commendation in Bauchi.
He said that the steps the commission had taken so far had improved the electoral process in the country.
According to him, INEC in collaboration with the security agencies and the media had provided secure and peaceful bye-elections in Bauchi State.
He noted that INEC was resolute, transparent and committed to conducting a credible, free and fair election across the country.

The gubernatorial candidate stressed that INEC has followed the Electoral Act, while conducting election.

He however advised security agents not to lose focus but remain resolute in safeguarding lives and property even after the elections.
He also appealed to the media to do more in sensitising the political parties, stakeholders, INEC and the general public on voter education and mobilisation ahead of the election.

He said that the action would go a long way in encouraging voter participation in elections, particularly at the grassroots.
Illiyasu reminded the citizens the need to collect their Personal voters card (PVC) to enable them vote for candidates of their choice.
The PDM governorship candidate advised the electorate to vote for credible candidates that would bring lost glory of Bauchi State.
He said that Bauchi had suffered much in all the viable sectors such education, water, health and many others.
"This time around lets study the candidates critically before voting them to power. If a candidate does not meet the integrity and honesty test don't vote him, go for credible candidate not party.
"We are looking for who among the candidates will save the state from the woos and backwardness," he said.
