One killed, many injured as Boko Haram set Borno village ablaze

Some suspected members of Boko Haram insurgents on Wednesday attacked and set ablaze Mammanti Village of Jere local government area of Borno state killing one person, while many others injured and carted away with livestock and foodstuffs.

A residence of the area, Abubakar Mammanti who fled the village told our correspondent in Maiduguri that the insurgents came in numbers and start shooting sporadically and set the village ablaze.

“The insurgents who came at about 9:00 am in Wednesday stated shooting sporadically and set ablaze over 30 houses ablaze, killing one person injured several others and carted away with livestock’s and food items. “, Mammanti added.
