IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, resurfaces in Jerusalem

Leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, was today spotted praying in Jerusalem.

In a video posted on social media, the IPOB leader was seen praying at the famous Wailing Wall in Jerusalem.

Photos of him and other members of IPOB were also seen on social media.

Kanu disappeared from his hometown in Abia State on September, 2017 when the military invaded his house.

The whereabouts of the IPOB leader has been a subject of controversy since his disappearance. Several accounts said the IPOB leader was spotted in Ghana. Other accounts said he is held in one of the underground cells by the Nigerian government until after the 2019 elections.

The Nigerian government, through the military, has denied knowing Kanu’s whereabouts.

If true, Kanu’s emergence from hiding may not be unconnected with the forth coming 2019 election, where Peter Obi from South East has been chosen as a running mate to Atiku Abubakar, one of the top challengers of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Political analysts say Kanu's reappearance may have been orchestrated by the Nigerian government to sway public sentiment in favour of President Muhammadu Buhari.
