Niger State former Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Mr. Jonathan Tsado Vatsa, has cautioned the state Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, against surrounded himself with sycophants.

The warning came on the heels of leadership crisis rocking the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state.

Vatsa, who gave the advice at the weekend, said that sycophants would cause problems for the state governor.

Vatsa spoke after the APC stakeholders’ reconciliatory meeting, which held at Alovera Hotel Tunga, Minna.

Vatsa described political job seekers and gossips as selfish people who were only interested in causing more underdevelopment of the state.

According to Vatsa, “Governor Bello and his entire family’s reputation will be at stake if he refuses to realize the reality on ground and that he (Governor) would surely regret his life for not listening to good advice and keep better and more responsible associates.

“It will be regrettable if the Governor didn't change his ways within the limited period he will serve the state.”

Vatsa, who had also served as the former state Publicity Secretary of the APC, however, lamented that the state has failed the citizens against the APC’s electioneering promises.

He said that the state was in dire need of committed leaders to pilot its affairs; a leader who will ensure justice and fairness in dealings with the citizenry.

“It is rather very unfortunate and I am ashamed that all what we accused the former ruling party PDP of wrong doing is being perpetuated in our governance today in the state - ranging from deep corruption, unfair treatment, injustice, lack of due process.

“It is rather unfortunate what we have going on before our very own eyes in Niger State today. It is a case of Monkey dey work Baboon de chop as political jobber is the order of the day. They are daily perpetuating their gossips and being listened to more than real advisers.”

He said, “Governor Sani Bello must change now or never and he must protect his name. I can never vote for rich candidates again because it is regrettable as they don't listen to poor masses ideas and respect, unfortunately we don't even know the real sources of their wealth”.

The APC stalwart also threw his weight behind the call for the sacking of all the Army chiefs to allow the young vibrant officers with fresh ideas to take over the affairs of security apparatus of the country if security of lives and properties must be guaranteed.

Vatsa lamented the persistent attacks, killings of the innocent civilians and high cost of food due to the current insecurity in Nigeria despite huge amount of money expended on security for peaceful coexistence without a desired results.

Vatsa said, “This is not the Buhari we know because he is a man of doggedness, having zero tolerance for corruption, ensure justice, fairness and fearless. Democracy is about the people who are calling for the sack of the army chiefs and they must be listened to with respect to opinions”.
