By Valentine Amanze

With two goals in first half and a converted penalty in the second half, Nigerian Super Eagles defeated Seychelles in Victoria, the country’s capital city, on Saturday, September 8, 2018 during the African Nations cup qualifier.

Nigeria’s captain, Ahmed Musa, opened scoring in the 15th minute with a beautiful shot via a good support from Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidozie Awaziem.

The onslaught of the Nigerian team paid off again in the 34th minute, when hard-fighting Awaziem scored from a rebound off Iheanacho’s free-kick.

The only effort of the host country, which defensive approach to pacy Nigerian forwarders in the first half failed, was occasional runs by their hitman, Dumont, to the Eagles’ defence.

During the second half, the Seychelles team changed its defensive method and tried to attack; but a counter attack by Super Eagles led to the hacking down of Awaziem inside the Seychelles’ 18 yard box and Jude Ighalo converted the resultant penalty at the 71th minute.
