Breaking: Shekarau dumps PDP for APC

The former Kano state governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, has dumped the PDP for the APC following the dissolutions of the Senator Eldoguwa led Kano PDP.

The former minister of Education said the decision became imperative over lack of internal democracy in the PDP and the outright disregard to constitutional provisions as well as rule of law governing the land.

The Media Aide to the former governor, Sule Yau Sule while confirming the development said “Ibrahim Shekarau left the PDP due to the insistence of the national headquarters of the party to dissolve the state executives without recourse to due process and despite a court restraining order”.

He explained that Shekarau is already consulting with his supporters on the next line of action and the party to move to, but our Correspondent already learned that he is moving to APC to team up against Kwankwaso in Kano.

“My boss has met Governor Abdullahi Ganduje in Abuja and they have discussed “, said Sule Yau Sule.

Our Reporter reliably gathered that the former minister is moving to the APC as the discussion has almost been concluded.

The PDP on Monday had appointed a caretaker committee for Kano state who is a loyal party member to Kwankwaso and his former SSG Rabiu Suleiman Bichi, after dissolving the part structure last Friday.

Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a former governor of the state who recently dumped the APC for PDP was said to have caused the crisis in the state PDP with his insistence to have 51% of the party as he was promised by the party headquarters which the state chapter disallowed.

However, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau who broke the jinx of becoming a two-time governor of the state consecutively commands a high level of followers in the state.
