The Arewa United Political Forum (AUPF) has described the Sarkin Hausawa of Lagos, Alhaji Aminu Yaro Dogara, as a "superstar of the Arewa community in the state."
In a statement on Saturday, the leader of the group, Alhaji Mohammed Dandama, also commended the Sarkin Hausawa, who doubles as the chairman of the Arewa Council of Chiefs in Lagos State, for giving out huge amount of cash to members of the Arewa community, to cushion the effect of the lockdown caused by COVID-19.

It stated that it would be difficult to identify any northern leader in Lagos, who could make such an unexpected gesture to those in difficulty.
The group, however, described the monarch as worthy of celebration for doing what many have failed to do despite their huge financial and material resources.
It called on the wealthy in the society to copy from the "beautiful heart and empathy of the Sarkin Hausawa" adding that it would be helpful in giving the followers of any leader a sense of appreciation and of belonging.
The group also said that the the Lagos State government needed to set up an independent audit to ascertain the whereabouts of the tons of rice it was reported to have set aside for the Arewa community in Lagos, urging Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to ensure something is done in that regard.
