Covid-19: Niger govt to fumigate major towns, public places

Niger State Governnor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, has approved the fumigation of major towns and all public areas in the state.
The General Manager, Niger State Environmental Protection Agency, Malam Habib Abdulkadir, who disclosed this, explained that the decision was part of proactive measure to protect the citizens against the Covid-19 pandemic and other diseases.
Abdulkadir, who spoke in Minna, also further disclosed that the state government has directed the agency to carry out the exercise.
He pointed out that the locations to be fumigated include public places, markets, buildings, motor parks, hospitals, mosques as well as churches.

Others are residential streets and public squares, Police and Army barracks.

Some major towns in the state to be fumigated, according to him, are Bida, Minna, Suleja, Mokwa, Kontagora, New Bursa among others.

The DG however urged the people to support governments policies and programmes for the good of the state.
