Imo monarchs visit Uzodinma, get assurance on conduct of LG poll

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has assured traditional rulers in the state of his readiness to conduct fresh local government election in line with local government laws in the state.

He gave the assurance when the chairmen of the traditional rulers from the 27 local government areas of the state led by the Chairman, Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Majesty, Eze Agunwa Ohiri, paid him a visit on Monday.

Also Uzodinma reminded the monarchs of the importance of their role in ensuring peace and tranquility in the state.

The governor assured them that his policies would meet the yearnings and aspirations of Imo people.
Besides, the leader of the delegation, Eze Agunwa Ohiri, had said that the purpose of the visit was to advise him to be steadfast and take Imo to a greater height.
Ohiri pointed out that leadership comes from God and promised the governor the support of the traditional rulers in the state.
Ohiri said, “God gives power to whoever he likes. Be confident that Imo is behind you. You should not be afraid.”

The highlight of the visit was a special prayer for Governor Hope Uzodinma and his Deputy, Prof. Placid Njoku.
