Buhari drops Ita Enang as legislative aide

President Muhammadu Buhari has relieved Senator Ita Enang as his aide on National Assembly Matters (Senate).
The president appointed Enang, a former senator from Akwa Ibom State, as Senior Special Assistant during his first term.
Enang is among several other aides of the president who continued with their appointments in previous capacities without renewal, since Buhari began a second term.
When contacted on the development yesterday, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President, Garba Shehu, said that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, was in a best position to clarify.
“SGF is in a best position to speak on that,” he said.
There are indications that President Buhari may have since replaced Enang with Omoworare Babajide, a former senator from Osun State.
An aide to Enang who prefers not to be quoted in print confirmed to New Telegraph that his boss saw the change coming a week ago.

The aide, however, expressed confidence that Enang was likely to get another appointment other than SSA on National Assembly Matters.
Presidency source said that Enang has already been offered another government appointment, but is yet to be announced.
