Oshiomhole blasts IBB, OBJ, other Generals for backing Atiku

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has lambasted past Nigerian leaders especially the retired Generals for “ganging up” against President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term ambition, adding that the future of Nigeria is in the hands of very few.
Oshiomhole said on Saturday at the Minna Trade fairground, venue of the presidential campaign that the future of the country was in the hands of Nigeria voters who must protect their votes during the elections.

According to him, “the Generals, especially past leaders, have ganged up and reached a conclusion that President Buhari should not continue.
“When he (apparently referring to General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida) ruled more than eight years, and when he (referring to Olusegun Obasanjo) ruled for more than eight years they do not want Buhari to complete his tenure.
“The future of Nigeria is in the hands of very few Nigerians especially the Generals. Why do they believe Nigeria belongs to them?
“Let us not forget that Buhari was removed after spending less than three years and was put in prison for three years because he was fighting corruption.”
He further urged Nigerians to be very vigilant during the elections by monitoring their votes.
The APC national chairman also accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, for squandering public funds, adding that, “during President Olusegun Obasanjo’s era where Atiku was his Vice took the sum of $16 billion from the country’s account and shared it amongst private individuals.
“if Atiku had seen the mammoth crowd in Kaduna and Bauchi states that welcomed us, he would prefer to remain in the United States of America (USA).”
In his speech, President Muhammadu Buhari said that he would complete all road projects in Niger State.
“We have recorded success in railway, we are going to ensure train gets to Baro. We will complete the Suleja-Minna road, Mokwa-Tegina and Bokani-Kontagora roads.
“I promise that I will continue to take care of you and I pray that God gives us rain for better farming this year. But make sure, you vote for the APC from top to bottom”.
The governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello while speaking at the poorly attended campaign in Minna, the capital of Niger state, called on the people of the state to cast their votes for the APC, adding that “President Muhammadu Buhari has performed well to deserve a second term”.
The crowd that turned up were far less than the mammoth crowd that welcomed President Buhari in 2015 when he visited the state for campaigns.
