Agaie indigenes protest against nomination of Niger governor’s campaign director as commissioner

The people of Agaie Local Government Area of Niger State have embarked on protest over Governor Abubakar Sani Bello's decision to appoint his 2019 campaign director, Alhaji Suleiman Yusuf, as commissioner representing the area.
The name of the campaign director, it was gathered, was among the 17 nominated by Governor Bello last week for the approval of the state House of Assembly.

It would be recalled that last week the governor submitted 17 names as commissioner-nominees to the Assembly to be screened.

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan zonal office, on Monday, October 14, 2019, raided a Osogbo-based nightclub allegedly notorious for hosting parties for suspected internet fraudsters.
The Head, Media & Publicity, EFCC, Wilson Uwujjaren, disclosed this in a statement.

The wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari, has returned to the country after a long holiday in the United Kingdom.

Director of Information to the First Lady at the State House, Suleiman Haruna, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.

Aisha arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport via a British Airways flight at about 4:30AM.According to the statement, she addressed a gathering of reporters awaiting her arrival.The First Lady said she was happy to be home after a well-deserved rest.

Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has released 17 prisoners serving jail terms for various offences in the state.

The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Ekiti, Olawale Fapohunda, revealed this in a statement on Sunday.

Four killed in Magodo building collapse

Four persons have been confirmed dead after a house built on a hill collapsed on another in the Otun Araromi area of Isheri – Magodo-Isheri.

The General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Femi Oke-Osayintolu, confirmed the incident to Channels Television.

He said the incident occurred on Saturday morning, adding that the bodies recovered include a mother and her three children.

According to him, efforts are ongoing to find more people believed to be trapped in the rubble while relevant agencies are working to ascertain the cause of the collapse.

Dickson appoints 60 new Special Advisers
