How robbers hijacked bus, kiledl one, raped five ladies

Some gunmen believed to be robbers have raped and killed a passenger on the Elele-Ahoada Expressway in Rivers State.

  In the incident on Sunday night, the robbers led by a man called ‘General,’ hijacked a Toyota Sienna bus carrying 10 passengers from Owerri, Imo State en route to Bayelsa State.

  A survivor, Mr. Uroko Victor Onuora, said that he and nine other passengers boarded the bus from Control Junction, Owerri, Imo State, and were going to Bayelsa State before it was hijacked.

IGP orders detention of Police officers for raiding Edwin Clark’s House

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris has reacted to the raid of the Abuja residence of elder statesman Edwin Clark, ordering the arrest of the police officers involved.

The IGP in a statement signed on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, said he is not aware of the raid of Clark’s residence.

According to the statement, the IGP has therefore ordered the detention of the police officers involved in the raid.

   No reason was given by the plain clothe security men at the main entrance gate to the Government House, Minna, for the new order, as the journalist was turned down while trying to deliver a letter from her head office to the governor’s office.

PDP consoles victims of Delta church collapse

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has consoled the victims, particularly parishioners and family of the deceased in the tragic collapse of the building of St. Paul Catholic Church, Ugolo, Adagbrasa, in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.

  In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, the PDP noted that it was traumatic that such disaster occurred at a worship place, when innocent and devout parishioners were at a morning mass, worshipping God.

Several killed, others injured as students,indigences clash in Niger

Several persons were feared killed and others injured in a clash between students of the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, and some indigenes of the town.

The incident occurred after a disagreement between some of the students and a commercial driver on Saturday.

The driver was alleged to have shortchanged the students and reneged on an earlier agreement to drop them off at a location.
