By Ummi Ismaeel,

Nigeria’s former leaders, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubarkar, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), on Monday met behind closed door at the later’s hilltop mansion in Minna, Niger state capital.

Details of the meeting were not made public but feelers had it that the meeting which lasted for about two hours might not be unconnected with the state of affairs in Nigeria; ailing President Muhammadu Buhari and the 2019 general elections.

Our corresponfdent gathered that visitors that usually throng the IBB residence especially during holidays were restricted into the compound ahead of OBJ’s arrival and until the time the meeting ended late in the afternoon.

Devoid of the usual protocols associated with visits by such important personalities, Obasanjo on arrival was escorted from the Minna Airport to the home of Babangida who is said to be already seated with the former Head of state, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubarkar by the Governor of Niger state, Alhaji Abubarkar Sani Bello, who is said to have left the scene almost immediately.

All the domestic staff present at IBB house on the arrival of Chief Obasanjo, our correspondent gathered, were also excused out of the inner Chiney where the meeting between the three former Nigerian leaders lasted.
