A political group, Misau /Dambam Awareness Forum, has threatened to recall its representative in the House of Representatives, Ahmed Yerima, over what it described as the lawmaker’s campaign of calumny against the Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abubakar.

The group also warned Yerima to desist from such campaign against the governor.

Addressing the press at NUJ secretariat in Bauchi, the Chairman of the Forum, Dr Musa Abdullahi Jalam,  said that they voted for Yerima to bring dividends of democracy to his constituency and not to engage the governor of the state in a media battle.

It could be recalled that Yerima, representing Misau/Dabam federal constituency, had accused Governor Abubakar of running an exclusive government thereby not carrying the electorate along. He was also among the lawmakers that took their grievances to the APC National Headquarters to report the governor to the party leadership.

He said, "We sent Hon Ahmad Yerima to Abuja to represent the good people of his constituency, to attract dividend of democracy and to protect our collective interest and not to be engaging his fellow party members in a fierce media  battle for his personal interest or the interest of whosoever have a political problem to settle with anyone.

"The collective interest of his constituency, Bauchi state and Nigeria at large is superior to his personal interest and that of his political associates. We believe that no any meaningful development can come to our constituency with our House of Representatives member joining issue with the Chief Executive of our state," he said.

The group advised Yerima to channel the resources he is using to sponsor advertorial against Governor Abubakar to execute projects for the people of his constituency.

"It is vivid that the unfolding development in Bauchi State politics has been a major cause of concern to every citizen of the state particularly as it involves Hon Yerima as the major actor. The aftereffect of his allegations and counter allegations as well as the ongoing media crusade is fast affecting the good image of his constituency," Jalam said.

The group thereby warned that Yerima's continuous defiance to President Muhammdu Buhari's call for aggrieved parties to sheath their sword in the Bauchi political saga may lead to his recall by the people of his constituency.
