Easter: Sustain prayers for peace, progress of Nigeria, Bello advises Christians

The Governor of Niger State, Alhaji Abubarkar Sani Bello, has advused Christians in the country to sustain their prayers for the peace and development of the state as they celebrate this year’s Easter in commemoration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Governor Bello gave the advice in his Easter message to Niger State indigenes signed by the state Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Jonathan Tsado Vatsa.

 The said that his administration believes that with fervent prayers all challenges would be overcomed.                                         

“The Alhaji Abuubakar Sani Bello led administration has mapped out strategies in the restoration agenda aimed at encouraging sustainable growth and development but also needed the prayers and support of all patriotic citizens to succeed.

“As our Christian brothers and sisters celebrate the Easter we urge them to draw a lesson from the sacrifice of our lord Jesus Christ and live by his teachings through promoting peace and sacrifice for the good of others and the society”.

Bello assured that the present government would continue to promote religious harmony and treat all adherents of the two major religions in the state equally with firm belief on the importance of the two religions in the spiritual restoration of the people to imbibe the needed values without which developments cannot thrive.

He pointed out that the state was known for its peaceful religious coexistence and pledged that the present government would continue to be committed to whatever is possible to create the atmosphere for people to practice their religion without restriction as guaranteed by all divine purposes, injunctions and the constitution of Nigeria.
