Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung, has muted the idea for village football league played among communities in states across the county.
He made the appeal in Lagos on Tuesday during his tour of National Stadium facilities with Lagos State Governor Akinwumi Ambode.
"We must find a way of encouraging village leagues, like Ojuelegba football league, Mushin across the the country, all these people parading themselves as football stars are nothing but media hype stars.
The real stars are in the villages looking for exposure".
He said that government was not ready to fall for already made talents, insisting, there was nothing to discover or develop in them.
"Government has resolved to go to the grassroots for the talents that would develop to stars of tomorrow".
Dalung, said, "If anyone wants to help government to develop any sports talent, the individual must come along in our resolve to restore Nigeria's influence in major sports locally and abroad".
