Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youths leaders in Bauchi State have honoured one of the paty's chieftains, Alhaji Shehu‎ Musa Gabam, for his contributions to the progress of the party.

The Bauchi Local Government PDP youth leader, Mamman Zodo, told newsmen in Bauchi yesterday that they decided to identify and honour party's stakeholders like Gabam for their sacrifices and contributions towards repositioning the party.

According to him, the decision to honour Gabam was arrived at after an emergency meeting of the youth leaders of all the 20 local government areas of the state, adding that the award is in recognition of his exemplary leadership to PDP youths and contributions towards repositioning the party in Bauchi State in particular and Nigeria in general.

Zodo said, "The award presentation has identified some of the contributions of Alhaji Shehu Gabam to PDP which include his being a founding youth leader of the party who witnessed that foundation of the party in the residence of the late Abubakar Rimi.

"Alhaji Shehu Gabam was the brain behind organising a conference in Abuja after the defeat in 2015 election which started identifying the challenges and way forward for the party," it added.

The group noted that as youth leaders, they wanted to use the award given to Gabam‎ as an encouragement to other party leaders and members to continue working hard for the PDP to reposition it for future elections.
